My doctor is referring me to an outpatient psychiatry place and I am a bit nervous and weirded out about it. I mean, I've been to counseling as a child/teen but this is the big leagues of counseling. I'm weirded out because I feel like I have to hide it from everyone due to the fact that certain people will think its their fault I'm going and/or they will feel like I'm bad-mouthing them to a strange doctor. I'm losing sleep over it. Any advice would be so appreciated. Reply to this Question Share |

And yes, I do have an issue with suppressing my feelings/problems and bottling them up and I don't really have a listening ear. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have a good number of friends but I don't tell them any thing because they're busy telling me THEIR problems so I figure, why bother them with mine? The referral my doctor gave me wrote a word describing what I had which was "anhedonistic"? I googled it when I got home and it means I don't take pleasure in things that should make me happy. So I guess I should go then.
