writes:I have a good mate Todd who came to see me and told me he had fallen out with one of his best mates, Carl. He does not know this but Carl and I have seen each other casually for 2 years. Carl visited me and told me he had argued with Todd, but he had a different version of what happened. I told him I didn't want to get in the middle but he text me the next day and to fob him off I just text that Todd had told me that they had argued after Carl had asked him for a favour and he was busy. Carl then forwarded my text message to Todd and now Todd refuses to be my friend. I rang Carl and confronted him and he hung up on me. What is your advice for how I might fix this neither are taking my calls. Why do they always shoot the messenger?

 I would suggest leaving them both to cool down for a bit. They need time to sort it out themselves.
Maybe just text them both and say " look, I'm sorry about what I said, but like I said, I don't want to be in the middle here, thats all. I will leave you two to sort it out between you if you do so wish and if you don't, I hope we can still be friends. I just tried to do what was right but it was obviously wrong. I'm sorry" or something like that. No one receives a text message and doesn't read it do they? you just can't resist reading it.
Give them some space, then try contact.

Whats the bets they are back on speaking terms after all that, Life is to short to have this kind of crap going on you just want everything to be back to normal , no worries and no arguments, If they are both not accepting your calls then just leave it for awhile. you were seeing carl as in a boyfriend way? carl is todds best mate and you are todds mate to. Its all upside down eh love, maybe you should have told todd you were seeing carl. It maybe now that todd feels as a friend you werent honest with him, And carl just thinks your taking todds side over his... When in reality you were doing what you thought best for everyone. So not one person in this is to blame for anything its just got all confused.If like you say you have being seeing carl then after two yrs id have thought he wouldnt just want you out of his life give them both time and with crossed fingers and toes and anything else you want to cross i do hope thing will settle back into place for you love at least todd knows about carl now, they just need man time to get there heads around things.We can only but hope eh!!!!
