writes: My friend (male) has kissed another person of the same sex and has developed blister like things in his mouth. I have looked up sympons of HIV and he has lots of these symptoms. The person my friend kissed has kissed someone else who has had sex with someone with chlamydia. He has a burning urine sensation swollen glands, weight loss and has had white discharge, headaches and he has been feeling tired. What could this be??

reader, anonymous, writes (8 April 2008): in response to what kris said about the burning, when i had herpes i had a burning sensation, i was told it was partly due to herpes and that had led to an infection. They were unsure if was a urinary tract infection or a kidney infection, so gave me antibiotics.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 April 2008): make sure he gets tested for everything.....he has symptoms of alot of different STDs.......however it sounds like he has herpes.....if the sores are painful....however, none of those explain the burning urine...the could be a regular UTI....but still have him get tested for everything to be on the safe side.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 April 2008): get your friend to the doctor. It could be any kind of std. I'm not a doctor so don't take my word for it but i have had experience of genital herpes and it sounds like the symptoms i have had. If it is that then the doctor can give your friend some painkillers and tablets to get rid of it. But again like i said it could be anything and a doctor or someone at the GUM clinic is the only person to ask. Make sure its sorted as soon as possible to avoid risking their health.
