oh wow good on ya mate, hope it all goes well, my advice for the proposal malarky is think about what really brought you two together, a certain hobby? a classic movie? draw inspiration from them, and come up with something that best symbolyses your relationship.

or go with the whole smooshy down-on-one-knee-in-fancy-restuarant thing. whatever suits ya

good luck! hooray!

It depends on what kind of girl she is.

After 12 years together, you, more than anyone, should know what she would consider the "perfect" proposal. If not, ask some VERY subtle questions along those lines. But be careful, because long term girlfriends generally seem to always be waiting for their lover to pop the question.

Do something unique, special, romantic, from the heart and most important, something that would suit you both.

Good luck and.... have happy marriage!!! We don't want to see you back on here with any marriage problems, OK?

dont do the normal cheesy stuff..make her feel special in ur own individual way..y not make her do a treasure hunt for it..and hide it..with clues..loll you can make it as fun as u want (wink wink)...or...jus stir up a really big argument...n then when she leasts expects it..yank out the ring n go...MARRRRY MEEEE..(but then agen..she cud be so angry for no reason she cud say no..so forget the second idea:D) or if ur frm the u.k...on bonfire night..take her outtt...n whennn shes lukin up at the sky at the fireworks...get out the ring..when she least expects it..it wud be all cozy n nice too cz of the bonfire..(as long as it dusnt rain)..or..how about when u go shopping at ur local supermarket..u grab the microphone ..n let the whole store knooo that ur askin her to marry u...bu if shes a traditional gal..ur best best is a candles..cooked meal..dimmed lights..and a ring! i say be different..unique..in ur own lil way...just to let her no u love her..freind x

After 12 years I thought you would have known your g/f...

I guess it depends on what kind of person she is and how romantic she is also...

Most girls love the old fashioned way of the guy going down on bended knee and proposing that way... I mean there a lots of different ways...

Maybe goin to a special place that holds lots of special memories for you both... where ye went on your first date or where ye first met?? Maybe after a meal in a nice restaurant, when they are bringing out desert have "marry me" on the plate with the ring in the centre? Have flowers or champagne at the ready also...

There's lots of things that you can do that are romantic with out been too over the top about it... The smallest of things can mean the world to a girl... Best of luck with it tho and let me kno how you went about it in the end..... x
