Kind of a general question.

What is the difference in feelings between real love, and infatuation or lust?

I ask as there is this one girl who on two occasions I have stopped feeling attracted to and then am again at a later point. Throughout all of it though I always like her very much in a non romantic way and we are quite close.

PunkyPippi agony auntWell...it's different for everyone. But, I think you need infatuation and lust to be in love. The infatuation is where for feel like you can't breath without someone, and lust is when you want to screw their brains out.

Love is the one that lasts the longest because infatuation goes away once you realize that the person is human and screws up just like everyone else. Lust duration is different, and can last for a long time, even a lifetime in some cases.

Love though you feel for someone when you're willing to oversee their imperfections, and overlook their screwups, and still think they're pretty awesome.
