Maybe rather than the cheesy love compilations in the shops you could get some 'chill out' tracks and suggest you'd love to chill out with her? I have no money at the moment and my boyfriend is 10,000 miles away and I have sent him a padded heart booklet and on each page I have written all the reasons and ways I love him. It took time to do and think about carefully but cost very little. Could you make her a card or present? I baked my boyfriend a chocolate heart shaped cake once - that went down well mind you I think I ate half of it :-) ...

One of my favorite valentines gifts from my husband was a little book of pictures of famous couples. In the very back page, he had pasted a picture of us. I loved it! And I think it was quite inexpensive.Another of my favorites was when he wrote me a series of love letters, talking about how he felt about me and why he loved me. You could write a nice love letter and put in a little clutch bag for her to find. (Use your best penmanship! ;) And good for you for being so thoughtful! She's a lucky girl.
