It could go either way. He might be interested in you romanticaaly or only as a friend.

Hard to say. I'll hug just about every friend I've got, and I have a reputation for giving big bear hugs (to the point that I'm asked to help crack sore backs). That's just me being friendly. And I'll play with hair or give noogies just to harass friends without it being romantic. But at the same time, holding someone for a longer time, staying closer over time, stroking hair slower and softer... sounds romantic to me. It's hard to say though...

reader, anonymous, writes (2 January 2011): Could be either. It depends on how close you are as friends, if you're not that close then it seems romantic. He could just be a natural flirt. If you're close friends then it's not that unusual to be honest.
It's too hard to tell, but on its own it's not enough of an indicator.
