My house is not completed so from time to time we communicate on the plans for the day. He keeps calling me dear..but I thought it was just his style. Occasionally he comes by into the house just so we plan on the progress. I have a number of people around so it's fine. The problem is I was thinking maybe he likes me from our communications, but I also brush it off from time to time. Today he could not send builders into the house citing that he did not trust them as he occasionally chooses who to send to my house. So I replied "thanks (lets call him B), you are such a sweetheart. Am getting spoilt". He replies."U r a piece of diamond". Question is what is happening here? Am I misreading signals or am I actually starting stuff? Thanks. Reply to this Question Share |

Just take it very slow with him. He may play up with every good looking woman he meets as part of his business. Perhaps he cannot help himself.
OR.. he may just be an old fashioned gentleman who does not perceive that he might seem a little sexist.
However go with you hunch - yes I think he is impressed with you. But will that make it easier - for him to be your landlord if a problem occurs?
Business is business. It is not a good idea to mix business with pleasure. Has he mentioned his wife? or his children? or grandchildren? or his girlfriend?
Take care not to be burned.

Hi
Your mis reading the signals. He is your landlord you his tenant, its a business arrangement and he wants the rent! Hes probably extremely grateful you moved in when it wasnt even ready, now your putting up with builders and all the inconveniance. Not many people would.
