After summer had ended we texted almost everyday. We also hung out a few times, but then he told me it would be better if we just stayed friends. His parents are really religious, and he and I are not the same religion; he kind of hinted that his parents wouldn't let him go out with me for that reason. Anyway, we still talk occasionally, but it's not the same. I'm hoping this summer I can try to get things back to how they used to be, by first hanging out just as friends and then telling him how I feel. I just don't know what to do with his parents? What if they don't let him hang out with me or date me because of the religion issue? We're only 17, it's not like we're close to marriage or something. ANy advice?

I have a girl and she's catholic, her parents probably resent me for being non religious but in my and her opinion the only thing thats important is our love for each other. If his parents disagree with you two being together so be it. at the end of the day as long as you two are happy then whats the problem :)
