Hi, just found this site so am hoping someone can offer some advice, my girlfriend came home the other night with some viagra tablets! They're called kamagra and wanted me to try them, we have a healthy sex life but anyway I was recently on erythromycin tablets (prescribed) for my skin (they can be used to stop acne etc), and I looked on google and it said you shouldn't mix the two, what I want to know is how long does the erythromycin take to get out your system and if anyone has any opinions on whether it would or wouldn't be ok? The list of side effects with all medication is like huge I know but the manufacturers mainly do it to cover themselves don't they? Thanks

bluelemontree agony auntHey,I think it's unwise to ask such medical questions here. You know, even we can give you answers.but they are what we thought right.Actually, they may be wrong. We are not doctors. So go to hospital for consultation.or enven small clinic is ok.What's more, you can also go to a big chemist's shop.normally.they have at leasr one qualified clerk who knows something about medicine. Some of them even can give your advice what kind of medicine you should take. They juge from your symptomon. that saves you from going to the hospital. It's very esay and convenient to get your satisfied answers !!

As to the side effects, manufacturers are unlikely to list them all.Medicines abound. They don't know which medicines people will mix .So the most common effects and warnings

normally are listed on the instructions leaflet.

Call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 to get medical advice.

Although, they might be a bit suspicious about you taking generic vigara. It still comes under the medicines act thus you shouldn't really have it without a prescription.

You don't mix drugs in any way, shape or form,as that is called polypharmacy, where two or more drugs are taken at the sametime and they can cause physical and mental problems, even death. As for the time that a medication remains in your body, that will differ with one's age and their body fat. Also it will also depend upon whether the stomach or the liver is processing the medication. As for Viagra, You say that your sex life is great, But could it be that your gf is'n' seeing it the same way that you are. You could become Viagra dependent, and thats no way to fly. So enjoy your togetherness. There will be plenty of time to use Viagra, when your Joytoy doesn't want to stand up or maintain it's erection. And right now the last thing you need to do is to mess up your sexuality with drugs, that are really uncalled for.

EDIT: Upon further inspection: give it a waiting time of at least 2-3 days for viagra. The longer, the better.

Hmm.. Depends what you mean by "out of your system". The elimination is usually exponential, pharmacokinetics usually lists half-time after which half of the remaining amount is metabolized or excreted.

Elimination half-time is quoted as hour and half, but I suppose that it may be longer in cases of hepatic insuficience.

Hope that helps you xx

flower girl agony auntI would suggest going to talk to your doctor about this, as i have looked into at the books i have on drugs and it says in there that you should not mix them as it can lower your blood levels and increase the toxicty of the viagra, unfortunately it gives no indication of how long the erythromycin stays in your system for so before trying this talk to your doctor, better to be safe than sorry.

Take care.xx.
