You're seriously over-analyzing like waaay too much. It means you looked really nice, on the nicer end of the spectrum.
It also depends on the context. Did he say it out of the blue? Or were you asking, "How drunk did I look last night?" In that case, it takes on a whole new meaning.

Not many women appreciate being called 'cute' it conjurs up images of little kittens and sweet kids with frilly dresses ... as for 'pretty' its not really ablokey kind of word is it, and 'hot' is something to bonk, and snicker about whereas 'fine' think of it, fine wine, fine dining, fine foods, finer things in life. Fine usually refers to those of lifes pleasures which are a little more classy than 'cute' and 'pretty' and much classier than boring old "hot". Much nicer, don't you think?
