A female reader, anonymous, writes (20 November 2007):

Sexuality is not set in stone.

You could be gay, yes, but that is for you to determine. You could be bi, too. You could even be completely straight except for that one instance!

Speaking from experience, however, alcohol is never an excuse for doing something you "wouldn't normally do." Alcohol tears down mental barriers and lets you do what you would otherwise be too scared to do.

Give it some serious thought. You don't need to be trapped by the restraints of "gay" or "straight." All you need to do is figure out how you feel about your friend.

if you think about this more than the same behaviour with girls then maybe. which do you desire more? if its men then gay but if its women then women, 50/50 and i guess your a bi guy. also it doesnt sound like you have had full sex/oral so i wouldnt make a judgement until i had explored other areas.

Gay and straight aren't set in stone and many, many people experiment at some time outwith their 'regular' sexuality. Don't beat yourself up about it. I'd say talk about it but guess that would be pretty difficult. Do you want it to go further? does he? I suspect you'll both find out in time but if one backs off the other should respect it. Good luck and don't feel bad about labels.

You could just be testing the sexual waters; that whole experimentation.

I say back off and reflect on if this is something you have always entertained and if it is something you want when sober.

Take care.

you are gay because not even somebody who drank all the liquor in the world would do something like that so confess to your friend!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (7 August 2006):

Well firstly you were both drunk and maybe did things that you wouldn't do if you were sober. Do you fancy your friend? I would sit and think this over before you decide whether you are gay or not. You're still a young man and it's not uncommon for this to happen, have you had relationships with girls? Don't worry I'm sure you will figure things out for yourself.
