In this country it ussually means that they find you adorable, in a cute kitten way.
In america they use it to express how attractive someone is. So unless all the women you speak to are lesbian or american I would assume they think your sweet.

I guess its a term of endearment, it could be that they think you are attractive and goodlooking. It depends on how they say it to you, because refering to someone as cute could also mean that your clever, ingenious, or even cunning or shrewd.
