reader, anonymous, writes (17 June 2011): Best plan is to ask him what exactly he means by that, as one person's interpretation is often different from that of another. You can do it in an enquiring way without it looking aggressive.
Many relationships break down because of a lack of proper communication and a lot of the questions on this site are where the person is speaking to someone anonymous rather than the person they need to be speaking to. Sometimes there is a fear and it's easier to speak to someone else, and if that is the case with you then you need to be thinking about how you can resolve that in yourself.
