He will never ask me if I'm happy???, He will only mention "I'm Happy When Your Happy honey" or "As Long As Your Happy, That Makes Me Happy" whenever I get excited about something like a new outfit I bought for example. For a man that never asks if I'm happy I'm curious to know ... what does a man REALLY AND TRULLY mean when he says this? I would really appreciate some honest answers from the men here, regardless of feelings. Thank you Reply to this Question Share |

It is just a phrase. Guys generally say that when they're disinterested, bored or not particularly thrilled about something.

I think it's just a way to say that even though a new outfit doesn't particularly delight him, he is happy that it brings you joy!
I wouldn't read anything more into it. :)

I know you are looking for a male's perpective on this but I know when my husband says this it's for the same reason that Suzie's does. He thinks it a catch all phrase that will get him off the hook and make me happy at the same time. Of course he only says it about issues of no import to himself. In other words it would never come out of his mouth when CAR shopping but often in response to "What shall I make for dinner?".

my bf says this kind of thing to me all the time.
i think its just to shut me up. he thinks it sounds good and covers all bases so he doesnt have to go into much of a discussion with me
