writes:I was wondering if there are any guys on here (chicks are welcome to reply too!) who could put a little perspective on something for me.At work, there is this maintenance guy who is around 19 or 20. His mother told my colleauge that he thinks I am cute.I think its kinda funny how he told his mother, but then again, I'm not a guy so I don't know how these things work. So is it a good thing for a 20 year old guy to think I'm "cute"? Or does is cute more derogatory coming from a guy? Reply to this Question

reader, anonymous, writes (30 December 2007): It is true that "cute" could mean sexy and merely eye-candy. This usage of the word cute doesn't really mean anything, it's just like a throw-away comment a guy might use about Jennifer Aniston or someone like that.
But it can also mean something closer to "sweet" or "endearing". Since he used the word cute to describe you to his mother I think it might be the latter. This second definition is much better than the first, it could very well mean he has affection for you. Take it as a good thing! :)

 The word cute could mean a couple of things, i guess the main one meaning that someone is nice to look at, attractive, good looking. Also someone who is cute could also be considered to be clever, ingenious, cunning or shrewd.
