This is certainly a promising platform to work from but i wouldn't buy the wedding dress just yet...if this type of interaction continues between you then maybe ask him out on a date unless he beats you to it of course. Whatever the conversation meant to him, it has certainly made you feel like there is hope and has made you feel that there is potential for more between you both. Take the opportunities to flirt and explore this further before biting the bullet and this may serve to prove or disprove his interest in you. Good luck though and enjoy x

He was following your lead. That's a good sign. What was his reaction other than the words? What was his body language? Did he blush at all? Was he quick to say you weren't weird?
You don't really give us much to go on here so think about my questions and you'll get a better answer. If I had to wager, I'd say he's interested in you.
If you wanted to give him a better hint, this conversation would have been better:
"Do you think you're sexy?"
"I don't really look at myself like that."
"Oh, because I think you are." -said with a smile
It's intimidating to make a move, especially if you aren't quite sure how receptive the other person will be. If you want him to ask you out, be a little less subtle.
