We aré both single, and I thought, not really looking to hook up with each other or anyone else at the moment......... However, lately he will ask for a peck on the cheek, and or a hug goodbye, He will say "i love you, but only as a friend!"i feel confused, a little excited but mostly worried, because i don't want things to change between us------- yet. What if anything is he trying to tell me? Am i overreacting? Should i set boundaries now? But what if i míss an opportunity? Or worse what if i make a complete ass out of myself and initiate hugs and kisses only to be rejected cos he REALLY just wants to be friends???? I am soooo confused!

I'm not surprised you're confused, he's showing signs he likes you more than a friend but stating clearly its just as friends, I'm not so sure what this situation is really about.
I would be stuck in the same thoughts you are, am I missing something, am I completely mis-reading, will I make a fool out of myself if I try something.
Maybe try getting together outside of work to spend some time together as 'friends' and see how things go, hopefully things will seem abit clearer.
