Ask to see a female GP when you book - trust me we are all used to it ;o)Do you just have a smell or do you have any discharge?Sometimes a smell can be caused by something as innocent as washing too well or sometimes it can be thrush or an infection. Trust me your Doc will have seen and probably experienced most of it themselves! She will however ask you about your sexual experiences and may well refer you to the Sexual Health Clinic - these are ALL manned by woman and to reassure you they are not a clinic for people with sexually transmitted diseases but are there for people who need advice one any aspect of sexual health.I would make an appointment with your local sexual health clinc direct and ask for an appointment. They will examine you and check for any STD's as well as advise on contraception etc. If you are sexually active and are concerned its a STD then the Dr can do a visual check then and there, they will then take some swaps (its a cotton bud which they will just sweep inside the vagina and uretha)and will be able to give some results there. The majority however you will need to phone to gain a week later. Does that help you? Any more ? let me know.
