A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

aaarrrgghh panicking!

my gf has been getting abdominal pains after sex, it happens often, she also feels the need to pee a lot aswell. its worse after she has a squirting orgasm, depending on how intense it was

at first we thought it was uti because she didnt drink much and got thirsty, so we got cranberry juice and some over the counter mild anti biotics. she pees after sex more aawell now to help stop this.

for some reason its gotten worse recently. shes been to the doctors a few times, they dont think its uti or cystitis at all and had to be persuaded to take a sample of urine from her. she went back last night a week after her last apointment, they said nothing grew in their petri dish and cant explain why shes getting thes pains.

they are going to test us for sti's and if its not that they'll get more invasive with my gf. shes got the hump because we shouldnt have sti's, i got checked when i started dating my gf because i knew my ex was cheating. and her mum is giving her grief about it (she hates me).

im even more worried than before, could it be an sti? if so, what? could we be right in that its just a bladder infection like uti? she has a history of kidney infections...and why the doctors reluctance to test for uti? please give some ideas as im worrying for her health. someone also suggested i could be too big for her? a bit obtuse, but makes sense...anyway help me find out whats wrong :(

Ask her to go to a gyno, he will do some scans to see what happens. I had exactly the same symptoms, i though it was a cystitis but test was negative. It was nothing serious though, just a bit annoying.

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (8 June 2010):

chigirl agony auntNot to be too explicit, but how large are you? If you are a medium it should be fine. I believe the medium is around 5.5 inches. So anything from 4.5-6 should be medium and regular. However, as the Kama Sutra says, there are elephant women and rabbit women.. meaning some women can handle big ones and some need the smaller ones. We'd really need to talk to her and not you in order to help, as she is the one with the symptoms.

But, if it is not something related to your size: go see another doctor. Just because one says no doesn't mean it isn't so. Seek a second or even third opinion.
