writes: I am thinking very seriously about divorcing my spouse. I was wondering if I plan on moving after I give him the papers do I find a lawyer in the city I live in now or then city I plan to move to? It will be in the same state.

I would think it would be easier to do in the city you are in now.
best thing to do is find an attorney. Most of them will give you free phone consults.
If you plan on moving AFTER you serve him with papers (that's actually near the end of the divorce proceedings) it's probably better to get it all done while you still live nearby.

If the divorce is amicable and your husband is easy to talk too, handle documments promptly, then deal with it now. If it involves messy emotions or he couldn't really believe this is happening, then a separation is good. After a year's separation the court can grant you a default divorce and there is nothing your husband can do. You live in the same state so it's not complicated.
I moved cross the border with my son, my ex husband was untraceable, still a divorce was granted after one year. Once you set your mind on it everthing gets easier.
