Anyone suffer from pmt or pmd? For 3 weeks of the month i am as happy as anything, laugh at things, and am so proud of and love my life. One week of the month i feel like dying. My mood is so negative and i could go to bed and stay there til my period starts quite frankly. I feel like i'm having a break down or something.

Its not fair on my kids, i keep a lid on it as best i can but even last night i cried because my cat had bought a live frog in and i am petrified of them. I couldn't control my emotions, and cant take another episode this bad. I wish my period would hurry up and start, i know then i will feel normal again.

Anyone got some advice please..

What did anyone use for pmt?

Thanks for your answers guys.

Still feel crud today, better slightly than yesterday, but still crud, period hasn't started yet, even though ive got the pains. So i know its imminant, and will be a nasty one. I have noticed that much, the times i get pmt the worst, the more painful and heavy it ends up be that month!

I completely understand the bit where you said you went to your doc and said you cant face going through that again, i was only saying that to my mum yesterday as it happens! She said i need to see the doc. I used to get Diazapam, and take them for 5 days before period starts every month, but i ran out a few months ago and am now with a new doctors and i bet they wont give me anymore. Most doctors dont do they. The other one only gave me them because i was in such a state one month!

Anyway, will get up there on monday and see what they suggest.

Thanks again

xxx

Get yourself down to the doctor.

I don't want to offend you but you are getting to the time of life when the change is a possibility.... if not then you could definitely try going on the pill.

I used to be on one that stopped my headaches and PMT and everything. It was great, but then they made me switch from it as I'd been on it for too many years.

Good Luck!! xx

I know exactly how you feel. I get terrible pmt and can some months feel suicidal.

Unfortunately I have yet to find anything. I have heard that Oil of Evening Primrose is supposed to be good for it, but I found the cost of it off putting.

The pill can I think control symptoms to a certain extent, but I have never go on with the pill myself - I can't help feeling that I already have too many hormones without adding any more to the mix.

The only thing I think you can do is at least recognise it when you're experiencing it - rather than after the event - and try to stay positive.

As I say I really do understand, I remember going to the doctor after I'd had a particularly bad bout and told him that I just didn't ever want to feel like that again. He really didn't get it. I have always said that if men suffered with pmt there would be some sort of cure by now!

Try to have someone - a girl friend who you can confide in when you are feeling bad, this can really help - ring them up and tell them how bad you feel, you do feel better for sharing it.

Good luck - and never forget you're not on your own. X
