What can I do to regain her trust?

Question - (5 January 2010) 3 Answers - (Newest, 7 January 2010)
A male United States age 30-35, *ountainman writes:

She had emotionally cheated on me with this other guy... she had been lying to me about a lot of things. I didn't trust her, so I hacked into his email.

She said she was done talking with him, but the emails showed otherwise. I confronted her about it and she realizes she was wrong to lie to me, but now she is rightfully upset about me invading her privacy.

She says she wants to work though our trust issues...

I feel absolutely horrible and guilty. What can I do to regain her trust? :(

A reader, anonymous, writes (7 January 2010):

I agree with the others because you have no reason to be sorry, she was the one doing wrong things. You just wanted to find out the truth. I say you drop her, be done and find a girl that's worth it all. (And won't cheat on you). But if you really still want to be with her, then you should sit her down and tell her she's the one at fault. If she don't change I think you should just be done with her.

Hope everything works out for you (:

I think you have all this backwards... it should be what can she do to regain YOUR trust. Take my advice, drop her and find someone that is better GF material, and by that I mean someone that won't cheat with another man.

Wow, she's done a number on you!

She's lied to you and carried on emotionally cheating but rather than you splitting up with her, here you are wondering how you can apologise?

You were justified in hacking her email because she was lying to you. There is no violation of trust when she's proven she can't BE trusted. Her trust in you is just fine, at the moment. It's only your trust in her that needs to be restored.

She got caught twice and I'm not sure why you are letting you treat you like this.

Good Luck!! xx
