I am current enrolled in collage and i am taking an algebra class, i have no problems doing homework most the time and even on hard problems i am able to work it out and get a successful process down to get the answer, and remember how to do it about 90 percent of the time just looking at problems.Well i took my second math exam and probably bombed it like the first test, i stayed up late last night to study and go over my previous homework on the section but yet when i sat down to take the test 4 problems in i managed to forget things and draw blanks on stuff i knew i just went over last night and had no problem doing straight off my head.I mas grumbling during the whole test because i was becoming more and more irate that i couldnt remember how to do these problems. I think the teacher just doesn't think i study but, he is dead wrong and ive always struggled with math through school and i dont know what to do, i think i know what im doing but every time i get the paper back and fail or draw blanks during the test. If i fail more then one class which is looking plausible due to the fact that i got a ridiculous western civ teacher, hes a nice guy but he just asked far to much from us on tests, on the mid term we were expected to memorize all 80-90 pages of notes including dates and full names and locations, and memorize the events of Augustus's life. Then take the info and write and essay and answer ID questions that state a word or a date to connect to something larger. Im just guessing but half our class failed all of them came and went looking glum and like they saw something horrible. But if i fail more then one i will be marked by my school that if i fail more then one next time they will take away my financial aid and i simply do not have the money or does my family to pay for my collage, im a stressful mess, and my history classes expectations are hurting my other classes by taking time away so i cant do other work and not letting me sleep which is not helping. What can i do to overcome my time constraints and get sleep and why cant i pass these math tests. ps: I already do not have time to do anything recreational because of collage, all i do is study, sleep a little, and the basics of life. Mainly due to history and math, my math homework is usually 30-40 problems or more a night over a already slow program that is poorly designed and takes unnecessary amounts of time, and then i have dial up which makes it worse.

I had to get overide permission for 2 of my classes in order to get in them because they are deemed too difficult to take simultaneosly. Well, like you I was overwhelmed when it came to tests, so I analyzed what I could do differently to study more effectively. (if you continue to do things the same way, nothing will change)
I am doing much better and sleep well at night, because my mine is satisfied rather than terrified and anxious. I have changed my study methods and I make sure to exercise for an hour each day (this is very important). I study my subjects differently on various days. I also do more difficult tasks when I am feeling well, if at all possible.
How do you do your math homework? Are you actually workng the problems out on paper, or just reading them? If you are writing them down, do them twice each on paper, until you can do them without thinking about each step.
For history, make condensed cheat sheets for each section as you go through the chapter, so you don't have to look at all the erroneous material when you are trying to study it. Concentrate your studying on the important facts.
Lastly, get involved in a study group, or get a tutor. My college offers tutors for free. This helps tremendously with tasks that you just have a lot of memorizing to do.
Also, try to make numonics or shortcuts for information you need to memorize...bill hamptom was born on the 16 of feb, 1667....bh1616 67
(you might further reduce this 1+6(16)=7, so 16 becomes 7767, the 6 reminds you that the 7's are not 7 and their are three 7's). This becomes easier the more you do it and before you know it, you will start recognizing patterns in numbers without even trying to do so.
Much more condensed to remember and easy. Just the process of looking at the material for a shortcut helps to firm the information in your mind.
I hope something in this advice will be of some help to you...good luck!

What you need to do is relax. It sounds like you need to get more rest and recreational activities going on. Its better if you eat a balanced diet with lots of fruit and drink lots of water. Also, its good to have a bit of you time- do you like sports? Reading? Whatever you like, do it for a bit of a break as no doubt you feel really fed up with everything. Its good to have a rest! You are also thinking too hard about everything- I know its really hard but just try to concentrate on one hurdle at a time and break things up into little chunks so you're not biting off more than you can chew. You could make up a revision timetable so that you can manage your time a bit better. As for the slow connection could you use a library computer or one in your college instead that may be a bit faster? I wish you all the very best- you will hack the history and the maths. Good Luck!

Whatever the nearest test is, focus on that. It sounds like your focusing on too much. Also, you need to make some sort of timetable that allows you to study each subject at a certain time for a certain amount of time at home. And stick to it. Also, though you don't think you have the time to sleep, you must get some because that's the problem. Your mind isn't taking it in because you're so tired. And if you're really struggling, speak to the teachers adn tell them you aren't coping and need more help. They're paid to help you. Good luck.
