I lost my virginity when I was 18, and have had many partners since then but I've only ejaculated during intercourse maybe 30 times. I've been married and have had one relationship of 5+ years. Here's the thing. I've tried over the years to get treatment (obviously with no success yet). Most recently I was referred to an unqualified therapist who doesn't know what to do with me and suggested that I couldn't be cured. Yeah right. My GP has suggested a psychiatrist but at £200 an hour I'd have to be certain that it would be successful (he seemed doubtful I could get it on the NHS any time this side of 2010).My problem is clearly in here [taps head]. What should I do? Who can help me? Bear in mind that I've given this A LOT of thought over the decades. Any constructive posts would be very much appreciated.Birillo

Thanks for your responses. My search for an answer has led to me to realise that counsellors probably won't be able to help me. I need a qualified clinical psychologist. I say this because my problem isn't *standard*. I'm seeing one on Friday but even he's already stated on the phone that he's not hopeful he can cure me....
When I solve a problem I ask myself "HOW am I going to solve the problem?" rather than "CAN I solve it?" so if this guy draws a blank, then I'll have to find another possible solution. I've gotta own this problem.

It might not be in your head. You probably need to see a specialist. Don't give up hope and don't rule out that it migh be something really wrong.......Google is my best friend! Why don't you google some specialists concerning your situation. You will be surprised that you are probably not alone........good luck........
