They were non-addictive and they helped to raise my spirits. I came off them as soon as they had finished and luckily the depression lifted. But there are loads of people out there just the same, so don't feel you are alone. It's a sign of the times, I think!
I know i've been through a lot in my life and it was inevitable that one day i would get these black days.
I've just sent you a massive hug.
Take care
xx

depression is hard to try and get over on your own, personally i beat depression in the past by spending alot of time with my family and friends. Give yourself a mini make-over, treat yourself to a few new outfits and hit the town for a great night out with friends. Or even if you want to, compltely change your image, find a suitable hairstyle that makes you look absolutely fabulous, completely change your style of clothing to maybe a more chic egdy style that you wouldnt usually go for and colours that you wouldnt usually look at. I found that by introducing yourself to new things whether it be new style of clothes or just new bars and clubs, it lets you feel like you've been born into a new world full of things juast waiting to be explored and tried out. Good luck hun.

I have a lot of sympathy for you, recently I have myself experienced depression and it overwhelmed me, it felt like i was in a big black hole, I would find myself crying for no real reason, i lost all purpose and certainly lost my identity and sense of self, normally a happy go lucky person I was just shocked at what happened.
I was like this for just under a week and snapped out of it as fast as I started with it but I think I am lucky as some people have this a lot longer and dont see a way out.
You need to go and see a doctor, he honest with them about how you are feeling and they will either give you a short course of anti depressents and reffer you to someone you can talk to or they will try and work out with you what has happened to make you like this.
Have you had depression in the past?
How old are you and has something happened to you recently, it may not be something really bad just something your mind is not ready to deal with, or it maybe overload, stress anything.
do not do nothing as it may not get better and may get worse, if you cannot talk to doctor then ring up samaritans or talk to a friend.
Good luck and I hope like me you come out of this soon.

Dear Astrid, remember that there are a lot of people still left in this world that care. This website is a good example.
It may be difficult for you, but you must figure out what area in your life makes you depressed and concentrate on what you can do to improve things in your life.
There is no miracle cure for it, but you are not alone. You will have bad days and good days. Allow yourself to feel good, positive thinking is often underestimated. Find a hobby to take you mind off sadness i.e. music, sport, socializing or reading.
I wish you well and hope you find strenght within to give you joy. Dont forget to smile and lots of hugs from me!
