Not the effects of porn on viewers... things which those behind the scenes are often subjected to. I'm trying to deter myself from watching porn and think this will enable me to leave it behind for good.Thank you.

Pornography usage increases marital infidelity 300%. (Steve Stack at Wayne State University)
Pornography use undermines marital relations and distresses wives. ("Romantic Partners' Use of Pornography: Its Significance for Women," Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy - 2003)
Husbands report loving their spouses less after long periods of looking at (and desiring) women depicted in pornography. ("Pornography’s
Impact on Sexual Satisfaction," Journal of Applied Social Psychology - 1988)
Viewers of pornography assign increased importance to sexual relations without emotional involvement. Consequently, wives experience decreased intimacy from their husbands. ("The Significance of Heavy Pornography Involvement for Romantic Partners: Research and Clinical Implications," Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy - 2002)
Extensive viewing of pornographic material produces many unfavorable sociological effects, including a decreased respect for long-term, monogamous relationships, and an attenuated desire for procreation. ("Effects of Prolonged Consumption of Pornography", Report of the Surgeon General's Workshop on Pornography and Public Health by Zillmann, Dolf - 1986)
Furthermore, I was married to a man obsessed with porn and although the only way I could stop my ex-husband's addiction to porn was to divorce him, I was able to at least temporarily curtail his porn viewing by using special software to monitor his laptop (http://findhisporn.com) and cell phone (http://brickhousesecurity.com/cellphone-spy-simcardreader.html) as he "graciously" allowed me to take away either device if I found porn on it.
It did work for a couple months but eventually the addiction won out.

Good choice! I made that choice a bit over a year ago (or maybe two I can't remember) and have never regretted it. As a bonus, my sex life improved as well!

Thanks marieclaire for that video. I wonder if they should make pornography illegal...

And not just men....how many thousands and thousands of women still paticipate....degrade themselves....
So often when women write on here so upset about their man's porn watching... and the group who respond saying get over it this is just what men do...wow, something has gone terribly wrong with our society in today's world...
Men and women are growing up with a very skewed sense of what sex is and are missing out on what real intimacy between a couple could be like when all they have is exagerated sex acts free of charge.....Men thinking this is what women want and women thinking that's what they are supposed to enjoy....wow.

There's a movie called The Price of Pleasure too that's really good that talks about all of this.
Also the porn industry is one of the main destinations for trafficked women. There is a huge amount of drug abuse, sexual assault, blackmail, and desperation involved. There is ZERO way to know what conditions the films were made, if the woman is trafficked, trying to support a substance abuse problem, if she didn't want to perform those acts but was later blackmailed or forced to, etc... It's a pretty horrible industry. While certainly not all performers are trafficked/raped/addicts/desperate, a large enough portion are that it's worth not supporting.
