Also, do you have to persuade the doctor to let you have the termination or do they have to refer you if you want to? I've got myself in SUCH a pickle!

This is an extremly serious decision that you will have to MAKE. Brook will provide you with support and will refer yo to a clinic bt on thing I wold say is that it is something that happens so quickly and something that many people come to regret. However this is obviosly not the case for everyone. Something I wold say is that the medical abortion is not pain free. It is an extremly painful process and is 20 times worse than a bad period pain. Goodluck hope you are ok and take time on making your decision its not easy but youl make the right one for yo. xx

Your GP will refer you. no persuations necessary, but be prepared to be judged and lectured bu the doctor. then he will transfer to an abortion clinic and they will make sure your decision is absolutly the one you want to make, it'll be called "unwanted pregnancy" on their documents. you have two options -
if you are before 12 weeks, you can have the suction method, where they "vacuum" out the baby under general anistetic. it's done within a day and you don't stay over night in the hospital.
secondly if you are past 12 weeks, there are the abortion pills. you take one on the first day and then are sent home and then the next the following day, and this induces "labour" it's the equivalent of a really bad period pain.
i'd suggest the suction because it is less pain and done within a couple of hours. however you're not allowed to drive home from the hospital so you need someone with you.
hope this helps and good luck.

first of all i would talk to someone ie family, and not make this decision alone.are you sure this is wat you want?this is a very hard decision to make and you need help with something like this.i would advise you to visit your GP as abortions can be somewhat traumatic for the parent.like i said before you do this PLEASE talk to someone. even i would be more than happy to talk to you openly as you may not to talk to anyone you know.email me if you want to hun, good luck ok? xxxx

hey, you have to see your GP. They will obviously talk it through with you. its not like you go in say i want an abortion, they say ok then, then you leave. ultimately it is your decision, you dont need their "permission" as such or to persuade them. they just want to make sure you'll be ok if you have one.they will probably ask why you want one and they just talk it through with you to make sure you understand what your doing and what the consequences will be and things like that cos its such a big decision. they will most likely refer you to a councilor for one or two meetings as well. then they will refer you to the hospital where it will be done.good luckbrookexx
