How can you tell.. the reason for my question is because I know this guy who I always catch him looking at me, and he always smiles... Or laughs at what I say, but last time he walked up to me and asked me abt my bestfriend.... that put me down, he told someone to ask my bestfriend if she liked him... but whenever we hang around he always looks at me, and to me it makes no sence at all.. plz help! Well, depending on how you look at the situation he could have asked you about your best friend in order to talk to you, as all the other things you have mentioned seem to point towards him liking you. Don't get all excited yet though, as it really could mean that he does like your best friend. The best way to find out? Try to spend sometime alone with him, i don't mean asking him out on a date as i know that would be really nerve racking lol, i mean like, when your 'hanging around' with him, try to get two minutes without anyone else there by speaking to him or something. The main way that a guy would show he likes you is by teasing. If he insults a famous guy you say that you like, or if he laughs at the football team you support or bands you like, it shows that he is trying to get your attention. Other things include; looking at you when he thinks your not looking, getting unusually nervous or unusually confident when he is around you, as mentioned before; teasing, the general flirting, touching you, if he looks jealous when you talk to other guys that's also a good sign, and last but not least if none of his friends come near you it may mean that he has warned them away from you as he wants him to yourself. The bottom line is your never going to know if you don't find out... and how you find out is upto you ;] go for it and good luck! =] xxx

reader, anonymous, writes (9 March 2009): sorry to burst your bubble but he's probably being nice to you to get in good with your friend. He probably does like you on some level, but not the one you want him to.
Men are pretty straight forward about what they like or don't like. you might try telling him you like him, you never know what might happen.
