A female reader, Myrrh United Kingdom +, writes (20 June 2010):

Myrrh agony auntHello. First of all if they werent using any sort of proper protection, like condoms or the birth control pill, then it wasnt safe sex. It doesnt matter what the boy told her about being safe. If people dont use any sort of protection, pregnancy can occur. Neither of them were being sensible, so its unfair of her to put all the blame on the boy. Its her body and she needs to start protecting it. You said she thinks shes pregnant. To find out if she really is, she will need to do a pregnancy test. They sell the test kits in the bigger supermarkets and chemists. They are very cheap to buy and easy to use. If she is pregnant, she needs to tell her mum if she can. Or an older sister/ aunt, because she will need to be checked by a doctor before any decisions can be made. Theres not really much you can do apart from encourage her to speak to an adult in her family. Because if shes pregnant, whether she keeps the baby or not, she will still need lots of help with this. But start with a proper pregnancy test first.

A female reader, Waiting for an angel United States +, writes (19 June 2010):

Well im due w my baby in 20 days, i wouldnt recommend having an abortion bcuz a baby truly changes your life. Even if shes not with the dad she'll have her baby when she feels lonely, and sad the baby will be her reason to live. I'll tell her to not have the abortion bcuz she'll probably regret her decision later in life. Its so amazing to feel a little baby inside of you kick & flip all over, its the best feeling in the world. Also seeing a little foot moving accross your stomach, i would never change the experience im currently living even if i'll be a single mom. Tell your friend she should think of the baby. My opinion is of a happy & excited mother- to be!!!!! :D its jst personal experience good luck:)
