Sex in a pool is wonderful.
It's even better in the sea at midnight.
But yes, it's not worth the risk - it's just not going to be safe. You can't count on chlorine killing the sperm quickly enough, and a condom just doesn't work when you are both in water.
I guess it's one of those things that will have to wait until you're settled in a relationship, you know there's no risk of STIs, and you don't mind if you get pregnant.
