Seems like this guy does not want any kind of commitment i.e long term relationship.. but just a casual one or maybe its to early and his taking one day at a time ..if its really worrying you and you want to know where you stand..try asking him 'Where this relationships heading' am i just a friend ? a sex buddy ? or do i mean something to you and is there a future for us..

 Some people when they get to a certain age stop actually asking someone out and either just mention what the other person wants or just goes with whats happening and might just presume that your together as you've already shared so much together, I would talk to him and test the waters out by asking him things like what he sees you as or how he wants to see you as.
