writes: Hi I'm needing some advice. I'm a 24 yr old female & have a close friendship with this 31 yr old guy. We have known each other for a number of years but only in this last year or so have we become quite close. We spend all our time together, always texting or phoning each other but thats where it stops. It's like a relationship without the sex. The only thing is, when I get asked out by other guys or mention that I've been talking or have seen another guy my friend gets quite upset & insists on asking loads of questions. He doesn't like me going out without him & if I do I get 20 questions the next time I see him. My other friends are convinced he likes me in a way that's more than friends but I thought that he would be able to tell me, if that was the case, because of how close we are. Or am I reading too much into it & it could just be that he's over-protective?I know the easiest way would be just to ask him but I dont want to embarass or upset him. He's the type of guy that just denies everything when confronted about something that embarasses him. Any ideas?

He could be over protective or he could be harboring an affection for you. Your ages are not so far apart that it would not work, but you should definately ask him where he is coming from and make sure you get an answer. No straight answers, no more discussion of your personal life, unless he is the man in it.
