We'd fancy a change now-if only to see if there's any difference in pleasure or sensation.I'm happy to be responsible for precautions but Im just wondering what happens to the semen when he has his orgasm-does it stay inside or come out overnight or next day(we always have sex with him on top).?

A lot of it flows out. It will be mixed with your own lubricating fluids. You may "leak" for several hours afterwards. Some women (or their partners) don't like the sticky feeling on their genitals and thighs, so they wipe or wash immediately after intercourse - even before the afterglow cuddle. Some of us actually enjoy the warm feeling, and find it rather intimate to feel our mixed love juices on ourselves. If you're worried about what happens later in the day, then you can use a menstrual pad or "panty liner".

However it isnt just to prevent pregnacy that a condom is used, it is also to protect you both from diseases.
If you decide to do the act without the condom, then you can expect to drain semen for several hours. There will be times that the next day or two even you will still feel "soupy"...and there is honestly a lot of difference in sensation.
Some people douche to cleanse the cavity out, but do NOT do that. All medical things that i have read, as well as my own doctors thru the years say it is harmful and kills good bacteria. I allows infections in the vaginal area.
Kudos to you for being responsible about sex, keep up the good work. Be careful, and the best of luck. mal

Well, step one is alternative birth control. Once that's taken care of, then go on with your plans.
What happens to it? Well, I'd recommend going to the bathroom afterword and letting it drain out. Some may stay in and swim to where it is supposed to, but usually if you let gravity help, it will drain out. You can actually learn how to help push it out as well.
