I have slept with my long-term boyfriend once since my last period, and although we used a condom, which didn't break (we always check afterwards), my period is now a week late. I have a slightly irregular period cycle anyway, but I'm quite worried. Am I worrying about nothing?

That way, you will know for sure, and will obviously have more time to decide what to do about it if you are.Worrying can also cause a late period. As the answer below suggests,if you are physically (and morally)able to take the contraceptive pill in addition to the use of condoms every time you have sex, then you are giving yourself excellent protection against both infections and pregnancy.
