writes: I'm really paranoid that I might be pregnant. You see, my boyfriend and I showered together about a week ago. While he didn't actually penetrate me, he did rub himself underneath me. It was mostly between my thighs. He didn't actually "cum", and he says he's pretty sure he didn't "pre cum" either. However, I just did a lot of searching online and I've found that it's still possible to get pregnant even if you're not actually penetrated. I obviously didn't really realize this until just now.I'm especially paranoid right now because I'm due for my period...soon. I'm positive I was supposed to start this week. My period "phase" kind of changed from last time, however. It used to be towards the end of the month, but it just changed to the beginning of the month. So I don't now if it's because it's "changing" or if it's because I might be possibly pregnant. I don't know if it's too soon to tell, because it's only been about a week, and because I'm stressing out over this, which I know can cause my period to delay (well, the actual bleeding part, to be blunt). I guess I'm just looking for some more opinions on this...thanks.

This can cause your period to come late which can cause you additional stress pondering over the thought that your pregnant. If you want to be sure you are not pregnant to put your mind at rest, take a pregnancy test, or go to your GP and ask for one to be taken. While there, ask about the possibilities of going on the oral contraceptive pill (even though you may not have had sex, like you said there is still a small possibility that you could get pregnant from sexual activites like you were in, so better to be safe than sorry). OR use a condom, any time things get sexual.SEBx

The only way to know for sure is to use a pregnancy test. You can take one now and again in a couple weeks to make sure. Yes, there is a chance you could be pregnant. If the test result is positive it is very important to start prenatal care. A normal healthy 16 to 17 year old should have a normal pregnancy and delivery especially if there is early prenatal care. Involve your parents and the fathers parents immediately after a postive test. Make plans now on how you will tell them you are pregnant. You will need their moral and financial support as the pregnancy progresses. Babies are always good news.
