We seem to have a thing going, but I'm nervous after bad experiences in the past. Can you help?

I text and talk to a friend at school alot and when i was absent she texted me after school and said she wondered where i was and said she missed me i said i did too. we are in the same grade but no classes we meet at the cafe in the morning until the firstbell rings i think she like sme but i am not good at these kinda things and i am nervous about getting into another relationship because i got hurt (not physically) in my last relationship.

last year she went to homecoming dance with a few of her girl-friends and me and my gf were gonna go together but she got hurt and we did soemthign else (long story not the time or place for it and i don't wanna remember) but she said she was going and i think i may "accidently" run into her there and askign ehr to dance and c her reaction a friend of mine is gonna do that with someone he likes

It's normal to be nervous. She is probably nervous too. Invite her to do something with you. Like playing a game of scrabble, watching a video, studying in the library, etc.
