We want to see each other, but she doesn't know how to tell her parents about me.I just hoped you may be able to give me some advice on this matter. What does a 15 year old girl say to her parents when she wants a 20 year old man from another country that she met over the internet to come and visit her?Cheers.

 Like the guy above me said. It's age differences are seriously considered here in the US, it's more shameful to date someone some 5 years older than you here then other places...(or so it seems) Although it's a little more common now it's still seen as a taboo and you've got to be careful with that. Seeing as she's 15 and you're 20 and she told her parents about you two, I'm not sure her parents would be too happy. I think they may see it as more irrational than anything else. The key problem being that she's 15 and you're 20, AND you guys live a sea away from each other her parents may think she's too young. Or maybe her parents will be supportive maybe they could come with her to visit you, or you go visit her. whatever it may be. You both have to be careful because long distance relationships are hard. especially in your case. Just be prepared for anything

reader, anonymous, writes (8 April 2009): I had been through a similar situation. I was 19 she was 15 We lied to her parents about how we meet and eventually they found out and it was very ugly. We also met on the internet. I live here in the states and that kind of thing is frowned upon. I suggest you stay there because you never know how the parents will react especially you being 20. I know you may think you love her but when you come face to face it will be very different. Your gonna do what you want but I suggest you find someone in the U.K. long distance relationships are very hard to handle. I know because I've been in one for a little over 2 years now. Just be very careful because girls can turn on you quick believe me I know. Take care and think about this a while.
