I guess feelings simply follow as a matter of course. It is hard to keep sleeping with the same "friend" for a while and not start to feel all warm and mushy.
Trust me, me and my hubby are into a physical relationship with our bestest friends, also a couple, we have what we call "sessions" atleast twice or three times a month over the past year and now we are practically in love with each other.
It was meant to simply be recreational but today it is anything but. It used to be lusty and practical, today it is more gentle and emotional. It just happened.

He says he likes things the way they are so he's being honest. He doesn't want a relationship with you. It's all about the sex which is fine if that's all you want to but I get the idea from your posting that you want more in which case maybe you're setting yourself up for disappointment and it'd be as well to get out now.
