writes:i have been in love with a guy for about 5 years,(lets call him x) we didnt go out but confessed that we liked each other 5 years ago, i had work things going on and my friend liked him aswell so nothing came of it. As that was happening i met another boy who i started to become attracted to and eventually i was torn between them, i went out with the other guy(it ended badly). This broke x's heart and for a few months x hated me and i was being called names alot. After a while he forgave me and we became good friends like before, on and off we liked each other but i kept getting crushes on other boys, hoping that the feeling would go away but it didnt. Recently he been out with a few girls but now were both single. I was planning to tell him that i loved him after i'd done 6th form. The other night he did tell me he loved me but now hes acting off with me so i dont understand,please help im so confused! thanks for any help that you can give to me :)

reader, anonymous, writes (30 April 2009): Its good he forgave you for going out with somebody. I was in a similar situation myself. Why don't you just try going out with him? You are allowed to have crushes while you're dating as long as you dont act on them. You both love each other so why not? even if it doesnt work out, you can be friends and you will know how you felt about him. Maybe he has crushes aswell and is not sure what to do, so he is confused aswell.
Talk to him face-to-face and see what happens and share your confusion with him if he shows any.
