writes: i've just started seeing a boy who i really like. we aren't very serious at the moment but he's been talking to my friends about what to get me for christmas.. i have no idea what to get for him! any ideas? i want it to be something personal but i'm so stumped :(

But some initial guidelines:
1) Guys tend to not appreciate the decorative!!
2) Guys buy their own accoutrements. Do not make the mistake of insulting his sensibility or masculinity with a misplaced jewelery-/grooming-/decorative- related choice.
3) It is more appropriate to invest in gifts when a relationship is more developed (one month is not developed in any case but a whirlwind eloping romance).
4) Consider the remarkable difference there exists between gifts from father to son, brother to brother, sweetheart to sweetheart... if you were planning on a swiss army knife... would that seem the most special choice... considering your Own relationship? Gifts firstly ought to be Special.

get him something christmas-related. a small christmas tree (i got one for 6 dollars),something he can put on his table,or bookcase. like decorative stuff

swiss army knife(which you can get engraved)
cologne
a chain/ dog tags
u didnt really give details on how long uve been dating or what he likes but those would be personal gifts more generic gifts would be things like
movies, video games cds
