A female reader, anonymous, writes (29 March 2007):

As long as you can sort things out and agree about important decisions (for example marriage arrangements) then your different religions shouldn't get in the way.

A reader, anonymous, writes (29 March 2007):

That depends on whether your feelings for each other as real living people are more important to you than 'gods' which have no evidence of even exisiting?

A reader, anonymous, writes (29 March 2007):

It depends on how seriously you take your religions.

Some people regard themselves as being aligned to a particular religion however it has little, if any, influence in the decisions and life choices they make. On the other hand you have people whose entire belief system depends on their religious faith.

I think if two people had a a moderate to liberal religious faith then their choice of partner will not contradict their religious teachings. If though you take your religious teachings more seriously then having a partner of a different faith is a little more difficult.

I guess whether or not it works out depends on how well you get on and how you have negotiated and agreed ways of living for the future (possible marriage, children, etc)

TELLULAH agony auntHi,

It will depend on your relegion wont it?.

If you are in love it should only be a small problem. And if you really care about each other, should religion really play a big part in your life to-gether.

You can take it I am not religous, as I find problems like this would not exist if there were none.

I know I am an atheist, and a lot will be up in arms. But I think if we were all kind to one another despite relgion, wouldnt the world be a nicer place.

I hope you find happiness XXX
