reader, anonymous, writes (31 July 2006): I live in Louisiana as well. It is just illegal for you to have sex with her. You could be put in jail for satutory rape if you do. But, if you are not having sex, there is not a law against hanging out with someone under age. Just be careful what you do. No drinking alcohol either. You would be considered contributing to the deliquency of a minor. Just make sure you know what you are doing getting with someone who is still very young. Good luck to both of you.

If anyone knows, I bet it would be someone there. You may want to call from a pay phone if you're afraid they'll keep track of you after you ask a question like that, just incase it is illegal. I don't think they would, but who knows these days.

reader, anonymous, writes (31 July 2006): Ok, I really don't know what to tell you except for the fact that I know where you're coming from. See, I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 25. Only thing is we have sex and my mom doesn't care because she feels as though I can handle myself. Now she was kind of iffy on the subject because when we started dating I was 17 and he was 24. All I know is that it's not against the law if her mom doesn't have anything to say about it. But since she does, it probably is against the law. It shouldn't be because you're not having sex with her. The best advice I can give you is stay with her. It's been 2 years and you shouldn't give up what you have with her over the law, especially when the law only talks about having sex with a minor.
