Was this a miscarriage?

Question - (20 August 2009) 2 Answers - (Newest, 21 August 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Near enough last year,

my boyfriend and I were messing around and his penis (which was wet from pre ejaculation) touched the inside tip of my vagina for like, 2 seconds; 2 months ago in October. Before then, my periods were pretty regular arriving on the 12th, and quite heavy.

However, a month after the incident I had my period on the 11th of November. It was heavy as usual, but my period got lighter and for afew days after my discharge was still a brownish colour which was unusual for me, but I ignored it none the less thinking it was nothing.

But this month in December on neither the 12th OR 11th did my period come but 8 days overdue it finally came and it was excedingly heavy, it even came through my thick black winter coat.

Could that be a sign of a miscarriage?

Thank you, any help will be great. I need answers.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (21 August 2009):

It is possible to become pregnant in the way you suggested, but it is unlikely you were pregnant. If you were pregnant then you were only pregnant for a matter of weeks, and, as unfortunate as it is, a very large amount of women have miscarages under two months, most of which never know they have been pregnant. I think you have nothign to worry about to be honest, but if you are worried, the best thing to do is speak to your GP. If you are worried about your parents discovering that you have spoken to the GP, as long as in the doctors, you emphasise you want the conversation to be confidential to the GP before you speak about your problem, then you have no worries of anyone else finding out.

good luck in the future x x

person12345 agony auntProbably not, no. You would have skipped the previous two periods. Plus, the likelihood that you would be pregnant from that kind of contact is EXCEPTIONALLY low. So low that you'd be more likely to be struck by lighting while inside. Plus, it was so long ago there's absolutely no way of knowing for sure.
