Here in the UK, we're nearly hitting 2 billion unemployed. A pot-washing job in a bar in London recently got over 600 applications. It's a terrifying state of affairs.I was in the same situation as you early last year - it's awful, and I totally agree about people telling you to 'stay positive' - you've probably noticed it is the people in secure employment who say this!!It was the boredom that got to me ... my passion is painting and sculpting and when I was employed, I sold some of my work to supplement my income, but it was too unreliable to make a living out of. When I was unemployed, I was terrified of blowing my savings on something so unreliable. I had a few temporary jobs - holiday cover in offices, cleaning, that sort of thing, just to try and stave off the insanity!!I started doing a lot of volunteer work, and it was through this I actually met my now employer. I'm only part time and thanks to huge budget cuts, I don't know how long they can keep me for. It's scary, but until we win the lottery (ha!), just got to keep going.Best of luck x
