Last night we had sex without one, I'm on the pill by the way and now I wake up and I feel like I have a UTI again. I'm scared to tell my mom as she might get mad because the medicine is expensive and I just had one..Why would I get it again?

"For Women:
1. Urinate before and after intercourse - pre and post-coital flush. Women experiencing frequent infections following intercourse are encouraged to empty the bladder shortly before and after intercourse. In addition, drinking several glasses of water each day also serves to flush the bladder of bacteria."

That's not somethng you want to have for a very long time though girl, so you need to tell your mom.. that gets worse and worse and infections are dangerous things to keep around. They spread. It possible the first one was not completely obliderated.. or that you have a deeper problem that's causing the infections and it has nothing to do with sex. when i was younger, I had an internal problem that would give me infection after infection anfter infection.. it was hell and i was always getting stuff shoved up there for testing..
Anyway.. tell your mom. If she's a reasonable mother, she will not act mad toward you because she will know that that will only discourage you from going to her in the future with problems.
And besides, if she knows your having sex at your age, how angry can she really get at you're having an infection that you can't help?

heres some tips.. comming from someone who is on a lifetime perscription to prevent them.
1-if you have anal and vaginal sex.. you can get a uti.. do to the fecal matter getting into the urinary tract.
2-you can irritate the urinary tract by having alot of sex
3-pools and spas, jet streams.. chemicals.. can all cause uti
4-the main thing is not enough fluids flushing out your tract. this will cause a flucuation in your ph balance.
it means you do not have enough acid in your urine to fight off infection. Which is why they tell you to drink cranberry juice, its full of acid which helps PREVENT further infections.
also ask your doc for Macrobid... its pretty good and is not like Cyparo which if you miss one, even by an hour you can cause a relaps.. if you would like further information you can pm me.. and i will be happy to help.
also tell your doc to give you some tips on all this.. go with your mum... and sit down like adults and talk this through...
too many uti's can lead to kidney problems and even failure.. take it from me, you don't want that.

Peeing and washing within 15 minutes doesn't do anything for a UTI, and soap is not a very well cleanser for that area on a female. Honey you need to tell your mother and go to the doctor. It could be more than just a UTI, go to the doctor and stay out of the bedroom for a minute until you know what's going on with you.

I'm on the pill and sometimes after sex I feel like I have a UTI for a few hours and then it goes away after drinking lots of water and pee a few times.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 July 2009): Actually, a UTI can be caused by having sex - oral sex. There are a lot of bacteria in the mouth and they can cause a UTI by having oral sex. The way to stop it is to pee and wash within about 15 minutes of having oral sex, or as soon as possible. Peeing will flush bacteria from the urethra and washing with soap will keep it from entering again.
