SPOILERS AHEAD

The Twilight phenomena is taking over the minds of the majority of the world's female population of all ages, while our boyfriends are continously mumbling in our ears, "Real vampires don't sparkle." Ah, but it will be worse for the same guys as New Moon premiers November 20th, sure to be a box office hit. But whether you hate to love it, love to hate it, love to love it, it seems we all have an opinion to give on Twilight.

What it is about Twilight that makes us feel so strongly about it?

1) The characters.

First of all, we have our main character, Bella Swan. She is a girl who attracts hazards from every world, but always escapes the clutches of death thanks to her vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen, and werewolf best friend, Jacob Black. Bella is naturally clumsy being, that tends to get on our nerves sometimes, but we forgive her actions for the sake of it. She is relatable the girls who really don't think they're anything special, but through another's eyes, we know she is an extraordinary human being.

We are all bias in our love of Edward Cullen, because he is a mere vampire. It's practically in our DNA to root for this guy to get the girl, because in Twilight, a godly light is shed on his character, but as we get to know him through the course of all four books, he is humbled down and we find ourselves sympthatizing with him. Ah, but he is also very chilvarious as he born in the early 1900's, and was brought up to be a gentlemen. Edward gets extra points for opening a door for a lady.

Finally, we have our third main character, Jacob Black. While this character sometimes acts irrational, agressive, and narrow-minded, we love him anyway once he flashes us that charming, warm smile. However, I am not sure really how to describe him, as his character changes from the happy go-lucky kid on La Push, to the angsty, masculine werewolf, to a somewhat selfish brat, and finally to the Jacob I personally fell in love, but more on that later.

2) The love triangle

After Edward's departure in the early chapters of New Moon, Bella goes through several tragic months trying to forget about her beloved, when Jacob Black--a former friend whom she hasn't spoken with since Prom--is there to pick up the pieces. Over the course of New Moon, Jacob and Bella form not only a strong friendship, but Jacob's small crush from Twilight turns into a full-blown infatuation while Bella has yet to figure out her own feelings.

However, when Bella becomes desperate to hear Edward's voice, she jumps off a cliff and Jacob, again, rescues her. She only starts to realize what she could have with him, but all thoughts are interrupted when Alice insists Bella come with her to Italy to save Edward. New Moon closes with Bella and Edward inevitably getting back together, yet Bella still feels a gravitational pull towards Jacob she can't quite explain and therefore, she has a feeling that there are meant to be in each other's lives.

In Eclipse, we are giving further insight on our love triangle, as Jacob's feelings for Bella increases, as does his desparation when he learns that Bella has plans to become a vampire. In attempt to convince that Bella loves him too, Jacob forces her into a kiss, and later tricks her into giving him other. (I know, right? What a jerk.) Though, Bella eventually realizes her feelings for Jacob, she knows that Edward is the one she's always been meant to be with.

Of course, Bella chooses Edward, and the book ends with the two ready to confess their engagement to Charlie, and Jacob runs off to try and forget about Bella.

3) Other couples

Each couple in Twilight aside from Edward/Bella and Jacob/Bella, too, have their own charm.

Alice and Jasper; they're always willing to protect each other and look out for one another. She's the happy pixie and Jasper is a vampire from the Civil Way, and somehow they are able to complete each other. Rosalie and Emmett with their active sex drives and exchanges, it's hard not love him. Rosalie saved Emmett from being mawled by a bear, and as he was turning into one of them, he begged Carlisle so that he may keep his angel, but she also appreciates Emmett. Before Rosalie could complete her dream of becoming a mother, she was killed for her fiance and joined the Cullens, but only half of her dream came true when Emmett entered her life.

Esme and Carlisle are, of course, the parents of the group as they are both older and wiser. Their dynamic is the one where the couple remains happily in love even after marriage, and adopting several vampires. Finally, we have our imprinted couples, when the werewolf falls in love (platonically or romantically) at first sight when meeting the object of the imprinting. To the werewolves, everything is put into perspect, giving them a reason to fight, and allowing them to see the symmetry of the universe.

Jacob is no different.

Arguably the worst pair in the books, Jacob eventually imprints on Bella and Edward's half-human, half-vampire baby girl, Renesmee Carlie Cullen in Breaking Dawn. At the height of his emotional breakdown after Bella is supposedly dying, he prepares himself to kill the newborn monster in revenge, but when he meets the color of Renesmee's eyes, they are milk chocolate brown just as Bella's had been. Suddenly, Renesmee becomes the only thing tying Jacob to the Earth, being the equivalent of how gravity works. Through the rest of Breaking Dawn, we see minor exchanges as Renesmee refers to him as 'my Jacob,' and are noticeably bonded together. Jacob has never been happier, and it's implied that one day they will be together after overcoming several other problems.

Yes, folks. Jacob finally got someone as he was meant to all along, and his mysterious tie to Bella makes sense at last, yet a good majority don't like the idea of Jacob and Nessie (a nickname he gives her), even though the author explains they were planned from the beginning. Personally, Jake and Nessie are my favorite thing about Twilight.

4) The guys

From Edward Cullen to Seth Clearwater, each guy has something that we absolutely adore. Whether it's that sparkling skin to those well-toned muscles, all of us girls have "teams" we're on. One that is growing in popularity is Team Jasper, because let's face it. Edward and Jacob are becoming over rated.

5) The girls

We also adore many of the female characters from Bella Swan to Leah Clearwater, as they are all described as being beautifully and having their own tragedies where our hearts go out to them.

Guys, are you sick of your girlfriends breaking up with you for Edward Cullen? Is the vampire-lore becoming over rated and annoying because of our love for Twilight? Sorry to say, but the attention will not be dying down until the motion features are completed, even then. . . Who knows? Now you also have to worry about Vampire High.

As for me, you're probably wondering where I stand on the Team Edward versus Team Jacob debacle. I'm neither. I'm Team Nessie; she's my favorite character and I don't give a hoot what other people have to say. Jacob found someone for him.

So, share your thoughts and opinions. Do you like Twilight, do you hate Twilight? Are you somewhere in the middle?

Don't get me started on Twilight! I love it, read all four books, thought the last one was brilliant. I think I also lost a lot of my social life whilst reading those books haha. The Twilight film was okay, they could have done better though. There were simple things in the books that they could have done throughout the film, but nope, had to change it! Looking very forward to watching the New Moon though, it was my least favourite book out of the four but hopefully the film will still be good!
