Trying to keep our relationship a secret

Question - (2 April 2011) 0 Answers - (Newest, )
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend and I have been dating for 6 months now and we believe we are meant for each other. The issue I'm having is with keeping our relationship a secret because we are both girls. I don't want our parents to find out, and I don't think mine can. But hers might because her friends and family are all close and they are gossipers. I'm getting really sick of pretending that we're just friends, especially when she is still with all her ex-boyfriends, and one of them has come to visit. Both of our parents are really religious, and they would freak out, and I don't want that. Should I just suck it up for the sake of the relationship?
