Anyway, when we had finished and I went to the toilet and there was a little bit of blood - Is it possible that my hymen broke some more?I lost my virginity over a year ago, and I've only had one sexual partner, so I'm a little lost on this one. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes, quite possible. I only had one boyfriend, and with him it hardly broke, but when I had another boyfriend, it broke more.
Also, there are certain positions where your cervix can be grazed, and it can bleed a tiny bit.
Just keep an eye on it. If it keeps happened, check with the doc to see if you maybe have a polyps on the cervix (harmless but is sensitive and can bleed easily). But yes, sometimes you do find a bit of blood after sex, and usually it's nothing, so long as it is a pretty rare event.

I think it's unlikely that your hymen "broke some more" if you've been sexually active in the past but it is possible. (I once witnessed a woman give birth who had a stretched but intact hymen despite the fact she'd conceived naturally. Needless to say her hymen was no longer intact once she'd delivered the baby!)If you are currently mid-cycle in your period (i.e halfway between periods) and not on the pill you could be ovulating. Many women sometimes experience some light bleeding or "spotting" at this time and it's normal (even if you haven't had it before)The bleeding may be coming from fragile cells on your cervix, especially if some of the sexual positions you tried allowed your partner to penetrate you quite deeply. If you are not in pain, the bleeding is very light and continues for only a day or two and there's no offensive smell there probably isn't anything to worry about. If it happens again though I think you should see a doctor for some reassurance. If you haven't had a smear test done yet, get one booked soon. If you have but it's not due- ask the practice nurse at the doctors surgery if you can bring it forward. They can then take a good look at the cervix and ensure that there aren't any undue changes to the cells that are causing the bleeding.Light bleeding after sex isn't uncommon but if it continues do get to your doctor
