Sent him a text the next day basically just saying hi. He replied and we texted a little bit. That was last week and havent heard from him since. Didnt expect to either as even if he did like me what would be the point as we living in diff countries. I am currently unemployed and have been sending my cv's out to recruitment agents etc and last week i got a call from a recruiter in the city he lives in asking would i go over to meet with her to discuss cv etc. So Im heading over next week, should i text him saying il be there for couple of days if he would like to meet up or should i just leave it? It would be nice to see him but not sure he feels the same!

YES!! Send the text. You know you want to and why the heck not?!
The worst he can say is no and then so what? You've invested nothing - wasted no time on him. And if he says yes, well it could make your
couple of days super fun and romantic and if it turns out not to be romanti - then at least he kept you company.
Do it now. You are going to be in the same city. You only live once. :)

Keep things casual and keep your expectations at a minimum. Just be blunt, say, "heyyy whats up! I'm in town for a few days was wondering if you would like to meet up. Let me know." And that's that. If he texts back awesome. If not just enjoy the city and focus on your interview and hopefully you will do great.
Best
